Working Group 3
Reference Models for Waste Disposal
Objectives
The Working Group worked towards the development of reference modelling approaches for assessing the radiological impact due to hypothetical releases of radionuclides from waste disposals to the biosphere. Since such events may occur only in the far future, the models needed to address possible modifications of the exposure conditions due to changes of climate, land use, human habits and agricultural practices. The aim was to provide a set of reference models that cover a wide range of environmental situations.
