3.1 Events of internal or external origin

The buildings, systems and equipment are engineered for the events considered in the deterministic approach, i.e.:

  • Internal origin events include the following:
    • Incidents and accidents (failure of plant systems)
    • Other events of internal origins such as fire or flooding due to leakage from plant systems.
  • External origin events include the following:
    • earthquakes
    • floods
    • aircraft crashes
