Gamma radiation is electromagnetic radiation composed of photons, which are small packets of energy with no mass and are of the same nature as X-rays, light, or radio waves.

All these types of radiation have different wavelengths:

	TV and radio waves: measured in kilometres
	Visible light: measured in micrometres
	Gamma radiation and X-rays: measured in angstroms.
