Regional Meeting on Status of Occupational Radiation Protection in Asia and the Pacific Region (RAS9064)

The Regional Meeting on Status of Occupational Radiation Protection in Asia and the Pacific Region (RAS9064) was held on 13 - 17 October 2014 in Kathmandhu, Nepal.
The objective of the meeting was:
- to evaluate the current situation on occupational radiation protection (TSA2) in the region, based on the country presentation and the self-assessment
- to find out the gaps and needs and to identify the priorities for TSA2 in the region
- to make the draft work plan for TSA2 for the next Technical Cooperation (TC) cycle
The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Science Technology and Environment (MOSTE). Two IAEA staff, one external expert, fifteen participants from Member States and nine persons from Nepal participated in the meeting.
The TC project on occupational radiation protection in the region, the IAEA programme on occupational radiation protection, and the information on TSA2 in RASIMS were presented at the meeting.
Country presentation was made by each participant from the Member States. The current situation, gaps and needs, priorities for the future on occupational radiation protection were included in the presentations. Based on the discussion in each group, the common needs and priorities in the region were identified, and the work plan for the next TC cycle was proposed.
