History

The European Study on Occupational Radiation Exposure was initiated by the European Commission in the year 1997.


Objectives

Provide the European stakeholders with reliable information on how personal radiation monitoring, reporting and recording of dosimetric results are structured in European countries Provide reliable and directly comparable data on individual and collective radiation exposure in all occupational sectors where classified workers are employed in European countries.


Management

ESOREX is coordinated by a joint Steering committee. It included a representative from the European Commission, the Netherlands (TNO), the United Kingdom (NRPB) and the Czech Republic (SUJB). At present, all 25 European Union Member States and Bulgaria, Iceland, Norway, Romania and Switzerland, participate in the study

Workshops

Since 1997 there were three workshops: in Luxembourg (1997) during ESOREX WEST, in Prague (1998) for ESOREX EAST and in Prague (2004).
