International Conference on Remediation of Lands Contaminated by Radioactive Material Residues
An International Conference on "Remediation of Lands Contaminated by Radioactive Material Residues", was held in Astana, Kazakhstan on 18-22 May 2009. The main objective of the conference was to facilitate international cooperation and to promote the application of international standards and good practices in the remediation of these types of sites. Additional objectives included raising awareness and encouraging the sharing of information and lessons learned on policy and regulatory, safety, technological, managerial and related socioeconomical aspects of the remediation of sites.
